Interplay Theatre is recruiting TRUSTEES
This is a voluntary position.
Role Description
• Be familiar with the governing document and the law as it applies to our organisation, and act accordingly.
• Declare and manage conflicts of interest effectively.
• Understand and respect the importance of confidentiality.
• Get to know the organisation and its context within the arts, community, and geographical environment.
- Contribute to the strategic direction to the Charity.
- Play a full and active part in Board meetings.
- Keep up-to-date with the Charity’s activities, ensuring that they are in line with its aims and objectives, and that they are for the public benefit.
- Attend Interplay productions and events, where possible.
- Be an ambassador and advocate for Interplay, promoting and championing our work, ambition, vision and objectives to stakeholders, and relevant organisations whenever possible
- Participate, where appropriate, in fundraising activities.
- Ensure the adequacy of risk management, internal controls and governance arrangements;
Oversight of annual budgets and financial reports. - Ensure the Charity complies with company and charity law and the requirements of The Charity Commission.
- Governance of financial management and reporting including cashflow and financial planning. Leading and / or contributing to the development of the company and it’s policies and practice in your specialist skill area.
