LS12 Creative: Sensory Youth Theatre
Interplay Theatre is excited to launch its Sensory Youth Theatre in August 2024!
Our Sensory Youth Theatre is for young people aged 11-25 years from West Leeds with learning disabilities, PMLD and/or autism who want to be creative and explore stories through a more sensory approach.
These sessions we will provide a creative and relaxed environment for young people who find rules, or expectations unrealistic with a structure that will better support learning disabled young people.
There will be a mixture of free-form and facilitated creative activity.
Each project will take place over 3 days during the school holidays. Young people will attend one workshop a day, building towards a sharing of their creative ideas at the end of the week.
The Sensory Youth Theatre is led by Artistic Director Kirsty, with other local artists and professionals and is supported by Associate Artist: Youth & Communities, Lizzy.

There is a free-form way to engage
Most of the work will be non-verbal, and delivered however the young people choose to communicate

Summer 24 One – Camping Festival Themed
Dates: Wednesday 21st – Friday 23rd August
Time: 11am – 12.30pm
Summer 24 Two – Night & day Themed
Dates: Wednesday 28th – Friday 30th August
Time: 11am – 12.30pm
Term Dates
Thursday 12th September – Thursday 12th December 2024.
There will be no sessions on 24th & 31st October due to half term.
