About Out of Orbit
On an ordinary night at the observatory, an extraordinary discovery sees a meteor fall to earth, and our astronomers guide the audience through the fallen star’s journey to find a place to call home.
With atmospheric soundscapes created live and a space inspired electronic music score, there are songs for all generations rearranged with a twist! Think Muse meets Mitski, and Kendrick Lamar meets Kate Rusby, all re-imagined live.
A celestial, sensory experience exploring the joys of stargazing, space and finding your place.
Devised in partnership with Creative Kin, a community of children living in care, their kinship carers, and artists in North Ayrshire. The show is inspired by the lives of children seeking to find a home in new places, and metaphorically represents their journeys through the care system, in a light touch and accessible way for all audiences.
